Calculate how deep to push your board and whether your board volume makes duck diving practical.
To duck dive, you must push your board deep enough that the wave passes over you. Board volume relative to body weight is the limiting factor. Rule: if board volume (liters) exceeds your body weight (kg), you will struggle to push it deep enough for big waves. Use a channel or turtle roll instead.
